Bulldog boys down Wildcats, fall to Pleasanton in subdistrict final

After dismantling the fourth seeded Axtell Wildcats, 60-46, in their first contest of the D2-7 Subdistrict Tournament on Tuesday, February 24, the top seeded Shelton boys basketball team hit a wall in the form of the tournament’s number two seed, Pleasanton, in the subdistrict final on Thursday, February 26, and saw their season come to an end by a 33-64 margin. Both games were played on the Bulldogs’ home court.

Wood River boys knock off top seeded Cross County, fall to Fillmore Central

The fourth seeded Eagle boys basketball team defeated fifth seed Giltner/Harvard in the play-in game of the C2-8 Subdistrict Tournament, 64-36, on Monday, February 23, to advance to the play top seeded Cross County on Tuesday, February 24, where the Eagles unseated the tournament’s number one seed to advance to challenge Fillmore Central in the subdistrict tournament final on Thursday, February 26. The Panthers held off the Eagles and Wood River’s season came to an end in that subdistrict battle. All three games were played on the court at Cross County.
