Fourth quarter rally is difference in game
The number one seeded Centura girls basketball team easily won its first round game in the LouPlatte Conference Tournament on Tuesday, January 30, against Arcadia/Loup City, 57-22, to move on in the tournament, but after a loss to fourth seed Wood River in the tournament semi-finals on Thursday, February 1, the Lady Centurions took on Ravenna in the tournament’s consolation bracket and emerged with a 32-18 win and third place in the conference tournament.
Shelton’s boys wrestling team occupied themselves with the Fort Kearny Conference/Twin Valley Conference Tournament and the Grand Island Central Catholic Crusader Invitational in Grand Island last week on the mats.
The Shelton High School Quiz Bowl team took first place at the Kenesaw Quiz Bowl meet on Thursday, January 25. They went undefeated against four other teams. The Centura speech team found a great deal of success at the Ord Invitational on Saturday, January 27, finishing second in the varsity Team Sweeps and fourth in novice as well as earning a number of individual medals.
