Buffalo grapplers finish Wood River Duals 2-3

The holiday basketball tournament looked a little different this year for the Shelton Lady Bulldogs, as they participated in the Ravenna Holiday Tournament this year, on both Friday, December 29, and Saturday December 30, after spending the holidays at the Silver Lake Tournament for the last several years.
Centura’s girls basketball team took down host Sandy Creek, 52-41, in the first round of the Sandy Creek Holiday Tournament on Friday, December 29, but fell victim to Howells-Dodge in the tournament’s championship game the following day, 40-51, to finish in second place.
The Wood River girls wrestling team attended the Fillmore Central Holiday Invitational on Saturday, December 30, and returned home with a truck load of medals for their efforts and a second place finish as a team. Wood River piled up 149.50 points behind first place Seward County with 169.50 points in the 18 team invitational.
Gibbon High’s mock trial team, coached by Angie Clevenger, qualified for the state meet in Lincoln and competed there on Monday and Tuesday, December 11 and 12, and finished with one win and two losses, according to Mrs. Clevenger.
