Twenty-two seniors became Gibbon High School graduates at commencement ceremonies held on Saturday, May 16, for the Class of 2026.
Nominations are being accepted for the 2026 Shelton Fourth of July Parade Grand Marshal. The 2026 parade marshal will be honored in the Shelton July Fourth Parade, riding in a vehicle.
Commencement ceremonies were held for the Wood River Class of 2026 on Sunday, May 17, with 39 students turning their tassels.
Memorial Day services are planned across Clipper Country on Monday, May 25. Following are services planned for respective Wood River, Shelton and Gibbon area cemeteries.

Larry Lee Fester, age 87, of Ogallala, passed away Monday, May 11, 2026, at the Ogallala Community Hospital.
Dianne Lynn Thompson, age 78, of Wood River, died on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at CHI Health St. Elizabeth in Lincoln. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m.
