The Wood River Rural High Class of 2019 turned their tassels at commencement ceremonies held at the school on Sunday, May 19.

Memorial Day services will be held across Clipper Country on Monday, May 27, “remembering all who served.”

The 107th Shelton Alumni Banquet will be held this Saturday, May 25, at the Shelton High School. Social hour will begin at 5:00 p.m., followed by the banquet at 6:00 p.m.

Lyle and Betty Stearley are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary. They were married on May 28, 1949, in Kearney. The Stearleys have lived their entire lives in Shelton.

In honor of Melvin and Sandy Solomon’s 50th anniversary, an open house for family and friends will be held on Sunday, June 9, at the Shelton Community Room in Shelton from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.


Patricia “Pat” R. Peters, age 86, formerly of Gibbon, died Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Saint Luke’s Good Samaritan Society in Kearney.

Lenard A. Pedersen, age 90, of Kearney, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at CHI Health-Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
