Clines awarded inaugural Gibbon Beautification Foundation Yard of the Month award for May

Jim and Sherril Cline were selected as the first Yard of the Month Award winners by the Gibbon Beautification Foundation. Winners of the Yard of the Month receive a Yard of the Month sign in their yard for a month, are spotlighted on the City of Gibbon and Gibbon Beautification Foundation Facebook pages, and are recognized in the pages of The Clipper newspaper. The Gibbon Beautification Foundation launched the new recognition program for the continued dedication to beautifying the Gibbon community. Residents may submit yard nominations for Yard of the Month from the first through the 15th of each month, May through October. There will be a new winner each month. Nomination addresses can be submitted along with an optional photo to yardsofgibbon@gmail.com. The Gibbon Beautification Foundation encourages all Gibbon residents to participate and aid in recognizing the outstanding properties and landscaping efforts throughout the community. Four Eagles qualify for state in Omaha

Eagle track and field members Alex Pospisil, Madden Brabec, Jace Martin, and Hector Bonilla Betancourt qualified for state competition at the C-8 District meet held on Thursday, May 14, at Kearney Catholic High School and Pospisil and Brabec claimed district crowns in the process. As a team, the Eagle boys built up 74 team points for fourth place among the nine teams participating and the Lady Eagles placed seventh with 29 team points out of nine girls teams.
