Students and staff at Gibbon High School will observe Homecoming Week Monday, September 9, through Friday, September 13, with a full slate of activities planned for the week.

Conditions as of the week of August 18 might just indicate a record corn crop in the making for 2024, according to the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service’s (NASS) estimate of 1.88 billion bushels for Nebraska’s corn crop. That estimate is up nine percent from the previous year and is 1.5 percent more than the previous record set in 2021.
Two planned power outages are scheduled for Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) customers in Shelton to allow for maintenance at the substation that serves the community, with the first outage scheduled for this Sunday, September 8, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.
