“In late 2020, the city applied for and received a $15,000 grant from UPRR (Union Pacific Railroad) to help make upgrades to our community,” interim Gibbon city administrator Matt Smallcomb explained. “We decided that a walking trail would be our priority and Davis Park would be the focus of that.”
With the recent retirement of long-time Shelton dental professional Dr. Gayle Knoll, two area dentists have taken up the figurative torch for her, Dr. Alicia Lyon and Dr. Alivia Focken, beginning on September 19.
The Community Food Pantry at 412 Alexandria Street, in Cairo, serves the Centura District, including the communities of Boelus, Cairo and Dannebrog. Food, paper goods, personal care items, and cleaning supplies are available to those in need.
