The Shelton Goodfellows distributed gift boxes to those in need on Saturday, December 24. “The thirty-six families who were blessed by the amazing people of this community are so grateful,” exclaimed Kaye Meints, of the Shelton Goodfellows. “A box of delicious food went to every home. There were also eighty-eight kids who enjoyed boxes full of toys! One little guy had eyes light up as he asked in amazement ‘Are these all for me?’ Most of us don’t truly understand that kind of awe. About twenty children and adults assembled to deliver the boxes despite the cold weather. (–photos by Steve Glenn)
Due to the cancellation of the Shelton versus Gibbon basketball games on Tuesday, January 3, the Shelton Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony for the Class of 2021 has been rescheduled for Tuesday, January 10.
The Shelton Area Lions are pleased to announce winning residential displays in their 2022 Christmas Light Contest. Matt and Kim Walter claimed first place honors and $25 in Shelton Bucks for their home at 809 Phelps Street (above). Roger and Crestina Ruyle at 705 Lincoln Avenue (right) took second place and received $20 in Lions Bucks. Both families were also awarded one year Clipper subscriptions. Special recognition went to Clifford and Cynthia Keslar for their 702 Chalma Street residence. A big shout-out goes to all participants who helped Shelton sparkle this holiday season. The three new members of the Shelton High School Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2020 will be honored on Tuesday, January 3, in conjunction with the girls and boys basketball games against Gibbon at the Shelton school.
