Wood River Community Centennial Foundation grant approved for playground

At the recent quarterly board meeting of the Wood River Community Centennial Foundation, a grant request was received from the Wood River Elementary Parent/Teacher Organization for the Wood River Elementary Playground Project asking for $25,000.00. This has been an ongoing goal to improve and purchase inclusive equipment to support all abilities within the Wood River Rural School District.

Geis joins Heritage Bank as a new relationship manager

Heritage Bank is excited to welcome Austin Geis to its Wood River branch as a new relationship manager. Geis joined Heritage full-time May 2022 after graduating from the University of Nebraska-Kearney with a degree in agribusiness. He interned with the bank a couple years during college, and has now completed the bank’s comprehensive lending training program. Austin was raised on a farm in Elm Creek. He will be living in Wood River, and working closely with Jim Rennau who is now working two days a week in semi-retirement.
