“Star Spangled Carnival” was the theme chosen for the Independence Day celebration in Gibbon on Friday, July 4, which will be a day filled with activities throughout.
The much anticipated city-wide garage sales in the Gibbon and Shelton communities were held last Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with offerings ranging from home decor to refreshing beverages, furniture, lawn mowers and every item imaginable for those who took time to browse the sales in each community. After a slightly wet Thursday and partly cloudy Friday, the sun came out for a beautiful day for sales on Saturday. (–photos by Steve Glenn)
Led by Wood River Mayor Greg Cramer (center), a Nebraska Historical Marker dedication was held in the Wood River business district on Friday, May 30. Also attending were Hall County Historical Society President Fred Rosser (left) and Society Vice President Michelle Setlik (right) as well as members of the community.
