Nielsen and Bonczynski sworn in at January meeting

At the January 14, 2025, Boelus Village Board meeting, longtime village board members Gene Whitefoot, serving for 74 years, and Vance Christensen, serving for 14 years, both retired and passed their seats on to Shelly Nielsen and Amanda Bonczynski. Russ Jensen was set to retire his seat; however, the new village board unanimously asked Russ to stay on and he graciously accepted. Shelton Board of Ed accepts resignations of superintendent Gannon, secondary principal Meyer

The agenda for the first regular meeting of 2025 for the Shelton Board of Education was a full one as board members welcomed new board members, elected board officers, appointed members to board committees, and accepted the resignations of superintendent Dr. Shanna Gannon and secondary principal Jenette Meyer.

“Second Chance” helps Milbourn, Harb earn peer support certifications

After working through a six month course and over 200 hours of community service, Steve Milbourn, of Wood River, and Dennis Harb, of Grand Island and formerly of Cairo, recently received certificates of achievement in Peer Support Core Curriculum Training from Central Community College in Grand Island.
