On Monday, April 13, 2026, a water well undergoing maintenance collapsed at the Gibbon Packing processing facility in Gibbon. No injuries occurred.
The annual Go Big GIVE campaign that brings together local non-profits, supporters, donors, and businesses for 24 hours of philanthropy in Hall, Hamilton, Howard, and Merrick counties is set to begin on Thursday, May 7.
The regular monthly meeting of the Gibbon Board of Education was held on Tuesday, April 14, saw the board consider the amended 2026-27 calendar and a contract for the SPED/Early Childhood position. The board reviewed the dress code policy and twentyseven policies that had been previously discussed during the Committee of the Whole meeting prior to the meeting.
The Shelton Board of Education met for its regular monthly meeting on Monday, April 13, and, among the many agenda items, tackled renewal of teaching and certified staff contracts and graphics on the gym floor and heard the monthly administrative reports.
