Sonja Warner has been selected to represent Shelton American Legion Auxiliary at Cornhusker Girls State held in Lincoln on the campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln May 31 through June 6. Sonja will be a senior this fall at Shelton High School.
Rates for water and sewer use will increase in Gibbon as the Gibbon City Council addressed those respective ordinances along with other agenda items at its regular monthly meeting held on Monday, May 18.
Nominations are being accepted for the 2026 Shelton Fourth of July Parade Grand Marshal. The 2026 Parade Marshal will be honored in the Shelton July Fourth parade, riding in a vehicle. This year’s marshal will also have a spot in the Gibbon parade, as part of the Buffalo County 250th celebration. The Gibbon parade has been designated as the official Buffalo County July Fourth parade.
Twenty-two seniors became Gibbon High School graduates at commencement ceremonies held on Saturday, May 16, for the Class of 2026.
Memorial Day services are planned across Clipper Country on Monday, May 25. Following are services planned for respective Wood River, Shelton and Gibbon area cemeteries.
