This year’s Gibbon High School Alumni Banquet will be held Saturday, May 23, with social hour beginning at 5:00 p.m. and the banquet at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are still available locally at Exchange Bank and Adam’s Corner Market in Gibbon. The deadline to purchase tickets is this Friday, May 15, with no refunds given.
First year journalism program earns hardware at state competition
Erin Gegg has been selected as Valedictorian and Macy Willis as the Salutatorian for the Shelton High School Class of 2026.
The 13th Annual Go Big GIVE is being held today (Thursday) with 165 local nonprofits in Hall, Hamilton, Howard, and Merrick counties for a 24 hour period. New this year was the ability to create a fundraiser for your favorite cause at GoBigGIVE.org.
“We had a successful trip to state journalism,” said Wood River Rural High School journalism advisor Grant Johnson of the state meet held a Northeast Community College in Norfolk on Monday, April 27. “Lila Morse brought home fifth place in Class C Advertisement and Rose Bredthauer competed in Unified Action Photography and was awarded a gold medal (every unified participant received a medal and feedback).
