The Centura cross country runners braved the hills and hot conditions at the Gibbon Invitational on Thursday, September 1, where seven total boys teams and five girls teams competed. As a team, the Centurion boys finished in seventh place with 116 points.
Both of the Shelton Bulldog crosscountry teams participated in the Gibbon Invitational on Thursday, September 1. On one of the toughest courses of the year for the Bulldogs, both teams competed well and brought home a couple of medals. Coach Matthew Walter stated, “ I am incredibly proud of all our kids. Brutally hot conditions and top two hardest courses we run besides state/UNK.”
The Shelton Lady Bulldog volleyball team capped off a very busy and successful first week of the season by earning the championship at a tournament in Overton.
After trailing 20-0 at one point in the season opener against Amherst, the Wood River Eagles gave the home crowd a lot to cheer for as they mounted a second half comeback that resulted in an exciting 34-29 victory on Friday, August 26.
With the Gibbon offense stymied and unable to score for the first three quarters, the hometown Hershey Panthers turned away the visiting Buffaloes on Friday, August 26, 38-12 in the first contest of the season.
