Eagle grapplers win four of five at Sutton Dual Tournament

“We competed at the Sutton Duals Tournament on Tuesday, December 17,” began Wood River head boys wrestling coach Darin Waddington. “We placed second out of six teams, going 4-1. “Our only loss was our final dual against Class D ranked Thayer Central by three points. We led the whole dual but we let some matches go that we should have been able to win and in a tight dual you just can’t make mistakes like that. Being open at a weight really hurt us, too, and would have made all the difference. That’s a 12 point swing in the big scope of things.”
