The competition was tough for the Gibbon Buffalo wrestlers at the Wood River Holiday Duals Tournament held on Saturday, January 4, where they finished in seventh place. The Gibbon boys met defeat at the hands of Aquinas Catholic, 28-54; Broken Bow, 35-47; Raymond Central, 21-47; and Wood River, 42-37. The Buffaloes topped Amherst by a 53-30 margin.
“We wrestled at our own holiday dual invite on Saturday, January 4,” explained head boys wrestling coach Darin Waddington of the recent Eagle wrestling action.
Shelton’s Lady Bulldog basketball team danced their way to convincing wins over Ravenna and Overton to win the Ravenna Holiday Tournament held on Thursday and Friday, January 2 and 3.
The Wood River boys basketball team recorded a road win at Blue Hill on Friday, December 20, 66-38.
Wood River’s Lady Eagle basketball team was unable to keep pace with the Blue Hill Lady Bobcats on the court at Blue Hill on Friday, December 20, and were bested by a 50-31 score.
