After an evenly matched first half battle between two C2-6 District and LouPlatte Conference foes, the Centura football team pulled away from the Gibbon Buffaloes in the second half on Friday, September 29, for a 12-0 victory on the gridiron in Gibbon.
The road was unkind to the Wood River football team on Friday, September 22, as they met defeat at the hands of the Doniphan/Trumbull Cardinals on the field at Doniphan, 14-30.
The Centura/Central Valley (CCV) Lady Diamonds hosted two games this past week and came out on the losing end of both midweek games.
Two separate triangulars left the Lady Bulldogs coming away with four wins added to their record, making the small trek to Gibbon on Tuesday, September 19, to find victory against Arcadia/Loup City and Gibbon, then hosting a triangular Thursday, September 21, and overcoming both Red Cloud and Blue Hill.
In pursuit of the first win of the season, the Gibbon volleyball team hosted a triangular with teams from Arcadia/Loup City and Shelton on Tuesday, September 19, and fell to both teams. The triangular was the second of only three homecourt appearances by the Lady Buffaloes this season. The Gibbon ladies traveled to Sandy Creek on Thursday, September 21, for a contest and met defeat in three sets, 18-25, 15-25 and 13-25.
