On December 21, 2025, members of the Gibbon Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Chapter dedicated their time and energy to serving others through the Buffalo County Goodfellows holiday project. Their efforts focused on helping local families enjoy a brighter holiday season during a time of year that can be challenging for many.
Junior Claire Clark scorched the nets for 30 points to lead the Gibbon Lady Buffaloes past the visiting Hi-Line (Eustis-Farnam/Elwood) ladies, 47-40, and set a new school record in the process on Friday, December 19.
The two-day Flatwater Fracas held at the Heartland Events Center in Grand Island on Friday and Saturday, December 19 and 20, and the Cryin’ Creek Duals held at Weeping Water on Monday, December 22, kept the Wood River girls wrestling team busy on the mats prior to the holidays.
The Gibbon boys wrestling team finished the Kearney Catholic Duals in fourth place on Saturday, December 20, logging wins over Red Cloud/ Blue Hill, Arlington, and Cross County/Osceola.
By a slim 42-40 score, the Wood River girls basketball team battled past the visiting Blue Hill Lady Bobcats on Friday, December 19.
