Wood River boys finish as runner up at Ord
The Wood River Eagles cross country teams participated in the Ord Invite on Friday, September 22, at the Ord Golf Club and as a team the boys raced their way to a second place team finish on the day.

“The kids ran very well,” said Gibbon cross country head coach Leon Stall of the boys and girls teams who ran at the Ord Country Club on Friday, September 22. “I’m super proud of them.” As a team, the Gibbon boys placed third with 43 points, one point behind second place Wood River.
This year, the Shelton High School band, under the direction of first year instructor Nathan Huyser, boasts thirty members in seventh through twelfth grades and have already marched at the Nebraska State Fair and at the University of Nebraska-Kearney Band Day on September 23. The band will also march in the October 7 Harvest of Harmony Parade in Grand Island.
The Shelton boys cross country team welcomed the beautiful weather on Tuesday, September 12, for the Minden Invite at the Minden Country Club.
The visiting Chase County Longhorns played homecoming game spoilers as they ran away with the game with the Gibbon Buffaloes on Friday, September 15, 62-0.
