Long-time Gibbonite Daralyn Benge will serve as the grand marshal for the 2024 Gibbon Independence Day Parade on Thursday, July 4. Daralyn was chosen by voters from a number of worthy candidates in the recent Gibbon Chamber of Commerce’s online survey.

Kiley Codner, the Wood River Rural High School agricultural education teacher and FFA advisor, has completed an Introductory Woodworking Workshop training. The Introductory Woodworking Workshop training provided curriculum and training to agricultural education teachers. Through a scholarship, provided by the Nebraska FFA Foundation and funded by the Patterson Foundation, Codner was able to attend Introductory Woodworking Workshop.
“The Nebraska High School Theatre Academy (NHSTA) is a branch of Omaha Performing Arts (O-pa),” Taylor Gellerman, Gibbon Elementary and High School vocal music teacher and one act play director, said of what some of her one act students were doing during the early summer. “As a participant school, we were able to have professional feedback for our spring musical as well as submit applications for various awards and opportunities.”
