Memorial Day services held at Gibbon Riverside Cemetery

Bright sunshine bathed the Memorial Day services held at Gibbon’s Riverside Cemetery on Monday, May 27. Gibbon Legion Post #310 Commander in Charge Tim Smallcomb oversaw the program including laying of the wreathes by members of the Gibbon Legion Auxiliary (top). Marine Matthew Branch (right) gave the address for the program. Members of the Gibbon and Shelton American Legions took part in the services.

Wood River American Legion holds area Memorial Day services

Members of Wood River American Legion Post #314 performed Memorial Day services at the Wood River Cemetery, Wood River Catholic Cemetery (pictured) and Cameron Cemetery on Monday, May 27. The services were held after Legion members met at the Wood River Legion Hall for a flag raising. Annual Memorial Day service held at Shelton Cemetery Monday

The annual Memorial Day service was held at the Shelton Cemetery on Monday morning, May 27, and featured members of Shelton American Legion Post #297, Shelton Legion Auxiliary and Gibbon Legion Post #310. Gibbon City Council covers sewer back ups, water and sewer increase, sells city hall

“Welcome to our new council chambers,” Gibbon Mayor Deb VanMatre said to those assembled for the May regular meeting of the Gibbon City Council on Monday, May 20. “We’re really pleased and happy to have this new location and share it with the community.” The council meeting addressed sewer back up issues suffered by some residents, approved the sale of the former city hall building, and approved ordinances that raised water and sewer rates for those services.
