Gibbon, the “Smile City,” will celebrate Independence Day 2024 on Thursday, July 4, with the theme “Stars, Stripes and Smiles,” the annual parade through town with Grand Marshal Daralyn Benge, a car show, free swimming, a String Beans concert and a park full of family friendly activities throughout the day.
Wood River’s Maxine Rathman, long-time featured writer in the Wood River Sunbeam and Shelton Clipper of “The Trail They Left Behind, On The Home Front,” passed away Wednesday, June 19.
