At the recent quarterly meeting of the Wood River Community Centennial Foundation (WRCCF), a check for $5,000 was presented to the Wood River Elementary School for The Go Big Give Playground Update Grant. At the February meeting, a matching grant of $1.00 for every $2.00 raised up to $10,000.00 was approved. Funds for this grant came from the Benefactor Fund, The Education Fund, Knight Family Fund (Dorothy, Turk and Patty), and the Wayne Rennau Fund. This is another example of the benefit of establishing funds with the WRCCF. When a grant is submitted for the Wood River area, funds are available. Working together we can accomplish so much. Josh Wiese grew up about one and half miles southwest of Shelton. He is the son of Chuck and Julie Wiese and Angela and Craig Steele. Josh graduated from Shelton High in 2006 and worked for several years at Open Air Nursery in Shelton. That job sparked a love of plants, and in turn nature, that led the Shelton native to his current position at the Crane Trust south of Wood River.
