The 2024 Buffalo County Fair is set to run from Tuesday, July 23, through Monday, July 29, at the fairgrounds in Kearney, with a plethora of 4-H and other events and activities for everyone of all ages to enjoy.
The Wood River Rural High Class of 1979 held their 45th class reunion on Saturday, July 13, at Babel's Barn in Wood River. Fifteen members of the graduating class attended, along with special guest Scott Schroeder, from Iowa, who attended school through the fifth grade in Wood River. Teresa (Thomsen) Paper also traveled from Iowa for the reunion. The meal was catered and memories were shared of past times. Summer Programs have come to a close and we couldn’t be happier about how it went! With a grand attendance total of 1,008 during the month, we saw so many of you at the GPL! In June alone we hosted 28 programs, ending with our Pool Party Finale. There were 135 program participants and their families at this party! The amazing Froth and Fizz even attended and served free lemonade for everyone!
