Shelton Village Board of Trustees discuss fire truck options, police officer training

Shelton’s Village Board of Trustees met for its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, June 11, and covered a number of items including forming a committee for the purchase of a new rescue truck for the fire department, Independence Day plans, purchasing “Welcome to Shelton” signs, setting wages for three village employees, and approving a police officer training contract.

Wood River, Cairo groups going BIG

Once again this year, a number of Clipper Country non-profit organizations will be taking part in the Sixth Annual Go Big GIVE activities which was rescheduled this year to be held on Tuesday, July 7. Go Big GIVE is a 24-hour, online giving event organized by the Grand Island Community Foundation and Heartland United Way to grow philanthropy in Hall, Hamilton, Howard and Merrick Counties. Matching funds and prize money are available to amplify charitable donations. Go Big GIVE is based on other successful giving days hosted by community organizations across the country.
