Five candidates for the Wood River Board of Education will face voters in the Tuesday, November 5, general election for the three seats available on the board. Jodi Rauert, Kevin Johnson, Anne Woitaszewski, Tyler Doane and Craig Huxtable will be on the ballot on election day.
Two candidates for Gibbon mayor will face voters in the Tuesday, November 5, general election, Leon Stall and Matthew Branch. In the interest of helping voters make an informed choice for their community, following are questions asked of the candidates and their replies. Candidates were asked the same set of questions and appear in the order responses were received. Both candidates were asked to look over their replies and make any changes deemed necessary from what was first published in May for the primary election.
Gibbon Mayor Deb VanMatre completed her two-year term as president of the Nebraska League of Municipalities following their annual meeting held on Friday, October 4, in Lincoln. VanMatre was first elected to the League Executive Board in 2015, and will continue to serve for another two years as past president.
