Gibbon’s Old Settlers’ Day to be celebrated on April 7

“The heritage of the past is the seed which brings forth the harvest of the future. Ours is a goodly land and the fruit of the labors of the pioneers has been blessed beyond measure.” Mabel Vohland said it best when recording the history of Gibbon in 1971. Now, 155 years later, the spirit of the Soldiers’ Free Homestead Colony is still evident.

Shelton FFA Nursery and Landscaping team’s first place highlights chapter successes at districts

Members of the Shelton FFA Chapter competed at the District 8 Career Development Events held on Wednesday, February 11, at Central Community College in Grand Island with the Shelton Nursery and Landscaping team earning a first place finish, qualifying for state competition and leading the way for three other Shelton teams to become qualified to compete at state.

Date set for Gibbon Alumni Banquet

Saturday, May 23, 2026, is the date for the Gibbon Alumni Banquet honoring the classes having graduated in years ending with “6.” Graduates of Gibbon High School of 2026 will be the honored guests. Invitations will be sent out the first of April.
