A very successful pair of wrestling meets were turned in by the Gibbon Buffalo wrestlers last week as they won a triangular with Kearney Catholic and Mitchell on Friday, January 16, and handily won the Gibbon hosted Bill Foster Invitational on Saturday, January 17.
Shelton’s girls basketball team recorded a pair of resounding road victories last week by getting past Arcadia/ Loup City in Loup City, 40-25, on Tuesday, January 13, and by ringing up a convincing 52-18 win over Ansley/Litchfield in Litchfield on Friday, January 16.
The Shelton Bulldogs relied on a mix of experience to scrape their way to a sixth place team finish at their home invite last Saturday, January 17. The Kearney Gold JV squad ran away with the title with 242.5 points. Sutton was the runner-up with 148.5 team points.
Playing on the road in its two contests last week, the Shelton boys basketball team improved to 8-6 on the season with road wins over Arcadia/Loup City, 63-48, on Tuesday, January 13, and Ansley/Litchfield, 51-41, on Friday, January 16.
Last week on the wrestling mat, the Wood River Lady Eagles traveled to Adams Central for a dual on Thursday, January 15, before making the trip to the Schuyler Invitational on Friday, January 16.
