Wood River boys golf team hosts triangular

Hosting a triangular with Doniphan/ Trumbull and Hastings St. Cecilia occupied the Wood River boys golf team last week on Monday, April 13. The triangular was held at Centura Hills Golf Course north of Cairo and competitors played only nine holes of golf. St. Cecilia finished the day with the lowest team score, 166, Doniphan/Trumbull had a score of 180, and the Eagles turned in a team score of 198.

Eagle boys win Shelton Invite, Lady Eagle team places fourth

The Shelton Invitational on Thursday, April 16, turned out to be a very successful day for the Wood River boys and girls track and field teams as the boys far out paced second place Elm Creek’s 104 team points with 146 of their own to claim the invitational’s crown and the Lady Eagles finished in fourth place among the nine teams competing with 67 team points. The Eagle boys took home 32 total medals and 26 personal bests or season bests in the relays were recorded. The Eagle ladies earned 29 total medals and set 13 personal bests or season bests in the relays at the Shelton Invitational.

Gibbon thinclads take part in Ravenna Invite

The Ravenna Invitational was on tap for the Gibbon boys and girls track and field teams on Thursday, April 16, where the boys finished in fifth place with 38 team points out of the seven boys teams competing and the girls finished the day with 69 team points for seventh place among the eight girls teams at the Ravenna Invitational. Centura won the girls side of the meet with 117.50 team points and the Doniphan/Trumbull boys won the boys side with 146 points.
