Wood River FFA teams qualify for State at District Livestock Judging
Wood River FFA members competed at the District Livestock Judging Contest held in Ord on Wednesday, October 8, where 18 schools and more than 575 members participated. Both the Wood River Senior and Junior teams qualified for the State Livestock Judging Contest, which will be held in April. The Senior Team, consisting of Madden Brabec, Rylee Codner, Lacie Frear, Matthew Chaney and Hayden Edgren, placed among the top teams, with individual highlights including Brabec placing 12th, Chaney 15th, Codner 17th, and Frear 20th. The Junior Team, made up of Atley Brabec, Karson Wagoner, Reese Blauhorn, Berkley Strode and Dre Van Winkle, also earned a state qualification. Brabec led the team with an impressive fifth place finish. Advisor Kiley Codner shared that she is proud of all members who competed and represented Wood River FFA with dedication.
