Bulldogs outpace Patriots for win
After a close first quarter, the Shelton Bulldog football team slowly put distance between themselves and the Parkview Christian Patriots on the road on Friday, September 19, for a nice 31-14 win.
After a close first quarter, the Shelton Bulldog football team slowly put distance between themselves and the Parkview Christian Patriots on the road on Friday, September 19, for a nice 31-14 win.
“We had such a beautiful day of racing,” stated Wood River head cross country coach Matt Cantrell of the Ravenna Invitational on Thursday, September 18, where the Eagle boys finished in sixth place with 73 team points. The Doniphan/ Trumbull boys finished the day in first place with 16 team points. “Last year it was mid-90 degree temperatures at race start, so the difference of 20 degrees made a very noticeable difference,” coach Cantrell continued. “Even though we had great weather, runners still had to contend with the hilly course and a large 25 team meet with several ranked teams and runners.”
The Gibbon Lady Buffalo golfers had a busy week on the links last week as they teed off at the Arcadia/Loup City Invite on Tuesday, September 16, and then travelled to Minden on Thursday, September 18, for the Minden Invite.
Three more wins were added to their record when the Shelton High Lady Bulldogs took on Axtell, Wilcox-Hildreth, and Lawrence-Nelson last week in volleyball action.
The Shelton cross country teams travelled to Minden on Tuesday, September 16, for the Minden Invite. The boys varsity team placed third, scoring 51 points, with Minden winning the meet with 14 points.
