In a rare home dual wrestling event, Shelton hosted the Elm Creek Buffalo team on Tuesday, January 6. Elm Creek went home with a close 35-33 team win. The host Bulldogs won three of the five competitive matches, but Elm Creek had one more forfeit to sneak in the win.
The Shelton Lady Bulldog offense scored at a steady pace throughout the game against the Gibbon Lady Buffaloes to post a resounding 58-29 victory on the court in Gibbon on Tuesday, January 6.
By earning a gold medal at 135 pounds, Lady Eagle Alyssa Thomas led the Wood River team to a top ten finish at the Malcolm Invitational on Friday, January 9. The Wood River ladies finished the day in eighth place with 83 team points among the 27 teams competing. The Wayne girls compiled 134 team points to win the invitational.
Gibbon’s boys basketball team endured a pair of tough losses on the hardwood last week as they fell to Ord, 19-80, at home on Friday, January 9, and lost on the road at Kenesaw by a 24-65 score on Saturday, January 10.
The Gibbon wrestling team completed, and competed, in a busy weekend of action last week, participating in the St. Paul Duals Tournament on Friday, January 9, then getting back on the bus Saturday morning, January 10, to head to the Amherst Invite. Both stops were successful for the Buffaloes.
