Flooding issues addressed at meeting

After a meeting between members of the Gibbon Volunteer Fire Department and community members on Monday, February 22, to discuss the upcoming potential flooding that may occur again in Gibbon along the Wood River and to discuss available sand bags, ideas, resources, and help, Gibbon Fire Chief Rick Brown has planned a day to mitigate flooding along the river with members of the community and fire and rescue department.

Ask anyone who has attended a fish fry at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shelton who made the pies, cookie pies and other scrumptious goodies and the answer will be Cathi Lewis without hesitation. Mrs. Lewis is well known for her delicious creations and for her willingness to donate those baked delicacies to church fundraisers and other events in the area.

Lady Bulldogs win D1-8 Sub-district

The road to winning the sub-district tournament went through Harvard and Silver Lake for the Shelton Lady Bulldog basketball team as they defeated both Lady Cardinals and Lady Mustangs on their way to claiming the D1-8 subdistrict title. The top-seeded Shelton ladies defeated fourth seed Harvard 68-15 on Tuesday, February 16, to advance to play second seeded Silver Lake on Thursday, February 18, and, after mounting a comeback, emerged victorious, 39-37.
