The change to a drive-through format did not diminish the turnout for the Cairo Rural Volunteer Fire Department’s Annual Smorgasbord Dinner held on Saturday, March 20. Fire department member Brad Lindell (at left) carries meals to waiting customers. Meals included pulled pork or beef, fireman potatoes, and smokehouse baked beans. Reports from the event indicated it was so popular that food ran out thirty minutes before the scheduled end of serving. (–courtesy photos)
