Four members of the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Department recently visited Christina Davis’ preschool classes at Gibbon Public School, an annual stop made by department members during the classes’ community helper unit. Sergeant. Bradley Hall, Deputy Mike Smith, Investigator Brandon Brueggeman, Community Service Officer Jonathon Baughman took time to stop by and talk with students about many different subjects. “We want to build a strong and healthy relationship between our littles and the officers,” Ms. Davis said. “We want to know how they help us and that they keep us safe. The officers always do such a great job explaining about the tools they use and giving us important information such as what an emergency is, dialing 911, and safety rules like seat belts and bike helmets. The preschoolers love asking questions and spending time with the officers. The officers always let us see their cars with the lights and sirens on. Our kiddos enjoy that part the most! At the end, the officers always tell the children to wave and say hi when they see them out in the community. Our preschoolers love this visit and I appreciate the officers taking time out of their day to come build strong relationships with our students.” (–courtesy photos)
