Wood River recipient of NAHTF housing grant

The City of Wood River was notified on Wednesday, October 18, that its 2023 Nebraska Affordable Housing Trust Fund (NAHTF) application to the Department of Economice Development (DED) for a rental project had been approved in the amount up to $565,000 for the completion of three units, all three of which will be designated as NAHTF affordable units for 10 years. The project’s units will serve two households making at or below 120% and one household making 100% of the Area Median Income.

Area Halloween decor foretells Tuesday’s holiday

A gigantic skeleton guards a “cemetery” in an area front yard just prior to Halloween next Tuesday. After warm, mild temperatures last weekend and early this week, more seasonal conditions are forecast for next week with highs in the mid-to-high thirties with low chances of snow as Halloween approaches.
