The Shelton High School Band, directed by kindergarten through twelfth grade music teacher Peggy Lowe, already has one marching event under its belt for the 2021- 22 school year. Along with performing at several athletic events, the band will have eleven total performances this school year including parades, programs and concerts, and Shelton High School’s graduation in the spring.

The Buffalo County Historical Society/Trails and Rails Museum is partnering up with the Gibbon Heritage Center to put together a family friendly cemetery tour! History comes to life as you get to meet S.C. Bassett, Vernon Mercer, Mary Brady Traut, D. P. and Emily Ashburn, A. F. Gibson, V. T. Mercer, and Jane Thorpe Gilmore and many more from Gibbon’s past.
In addition to its regular monthly meeting agenda, the Shelton Village Board of Trustees held a public hearing on Thursday, September 9, to set the village’s final tax request for the 2021-22 fiscal year.
Lindsay Wilkens and Jose Escandon were crowned Gibbon High 2021 Homecoming Queen and King on Friday, September 10, after the Buffaloes dismantled the Hershey Panthers, 40-14, during the homecoming football game. The homecoming dance was held at the school later that night. (–courtesy photo)
