Veronica Morse, co-owner of MNO Hometown Market and eronica Catering in Wood River and Ravenna, was diagnosed with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma at the end of June. A benefit is being held this Saturday, November 18, to help with expenses she and her family will face during treatment and recovery.
At the recent Wood River Community Centennial Foundation Board meeting, board members wore their new t-shirts to spread the word that since 1984, the Foundation has approved grants and scholarships back to the Wood River area of over $893,200.00. At this meeting, two grants were approved, $500.00 for the post prom from a grand benefactor and $100.00 for each student attending Close Up in May of 2024 from the Charles and Donna Moyer Grand Benefactor Endowment Fund. The City of Gibbon extends an invitation to everyone to experience the enchanting “Magic of a Small Town Christmas” during the Second Annual Christmas in the Park in Gibbon, sponsored by the City of Gibbon, on Saturday, December 2, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The event is free to the public.
Nineteen total non-profit organizations are awaiting Thursday, December 7, which is the date set for the annual Kearney Area Community Foundation Give Where You Live Day of Giving.
The Wood River School, along with our other Clipper Country schools, honored area Veterans with programs at the schools.
