Shelton opens season with success at Twilight Run
Shelton’s girls and boys cross country team had a successful season opening meet at the Fort Kearny Twilight Run on Friday, August 27, with a number of good finishes.
Shelton’s girls and boys cross country team had a successful season opening meet at the Fort Kearny Twilight Run on Friday, August 27, with a number of good finishes.
For the Shelton Lady Bulldog team the season began at a tournament held at Overton on Saturday, August 28, where the Shelton ladies got past Heartland 2-0, was defeated by Central Valley 2-1, and took two of three sets from Anselmo-Merna to finish in third place.
The Shelton Public Library has been selected to receive one of the limited hardcopy sets of posters, for exhibition, in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the attacks of September 11, 2001: The Day That Changed The World, courtesy of 9/11 Memorial and Museum. There will be an “Anniversary in the Schools” webinar at the library, and is supplemented by a live chat with the museum staff, who will be available to answer questions in real-time on Friday, September 10, and Saturday September 11, 2021. Hours of the library will be 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on these two days. Students in grades six through twelve and adults are encouraged to attend. The library will have lesson plans and a “Local Heroes” activity for students in third through fifth grades on Thursday, September 9, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Due to the Labor Day holiday on Monday, September 6, the deadline for the September 9 issue of the Shelton Clipper will be tomorrow (Friday) at 12:00 noon.
With the new school year at Shelton Public School comes two new faces in the front offices, superintendent secretary/bookkeeper Missy Meyer and office assistant Maritza Bernal.
