The season opener on Thursday, August 28, did not go the way of the Gibbon volleyball team as they met defeat at the hands of SEM on the Lady Buffaloes’ home court, 0-3. The Lady Mustangs posted the win in three sets, 25-6, 25-9, and 25-12.
The Celebrate Wood River Performing Arts Council, in its 19th year, is excited to share their 2025-2026 Concert Series to the Central Nebraska area. All performances will be at the Wood River High School Performing Arts Theater at 13800 West Wood River Road, Wood River.
Mason, Marissa, and Morgan Janda, of Ravenna, recently participated in the 2025 Loup Valley Livestock Challenge. The Challenge is sponsored by the Loup Valley Ag Society and held annually in Ord. Mason Janda, a senior at Centura High School, was named Champion Swine Showman. His breeding gilt placed second and his market barrow third in their respective divisions. Janda received a champion buckle and college scholarship from the Loup Valley Ag Society, plus awards donated by Kearney Powersports, Bayer Crop Science, Farm Credit Services, GreenAmerica Biofuels-Ord, Valley Auto Parts, and BASF.
