After an 8-8 first quarter, the Wood River football team picked up steam and turned in a 41-8 home field win over the Fairbury Jeffs on Friday, September 12.
On a chilly, cloudy Thursday, September 4, afternoon, the Gibbon boys and girls cross country teams hosted the Rob Priebe/Gibbon Invitational at Gibbon Municipal Golf Course and were led by Giovanny Hernandez for the boys squad and Kaleigh Pracht for the girls. The Lady Buffaloes finished the day in third place with 60 team points among the eight girls teams competing. Only three Buffalo boys ran in the meet and did not register a team score.
Led by top five finishes by Hector Bonilla Betancourt and Yanathan Perez, the Wood River cross country team competed at the Gibbon Invitational on Thursday, September 4, where as a team, the boys placed second with 65 points among the 11-team field.
Five current members of the Shelton FFA Chapter and two out-of-school members recently showed their swine, goats, and poultry at the 2025 Nebraska State Fair held in Grand Island.
The Shelton cross country runners took on a large field of competitors at the Gibbon Invitational on Thursday, September 4, where the boys finished in fourth place with a team score of 73 among the 11 teams running the course.
