Students from Gibbon High School earned a strong sixth place finish at the Nebraska Economic Education Personal Finance Challenge Western Regional competition held at the University of Nebraska at Kearney on Friday, April 24, 2026.
The Wood River FFA Chapter hosted its 2025–2026 Annual Banquet on Friday, April 24, bringing together members, families, and community supporters to celebrate a year of accomplishments, leadership, and growth within the program.
The Cyndi Peil Memorial Golf Scramble hosted by Blue Hill and held at the Red Cloud Country Club on Tuesday, April 27, and the Overton Invitational on Friday, May 1, were on tap for the Shelton boys golf team in recent action.
The LouPlatte Conference meet, held at Centura High School on Friday, May 1, filled the late season schedule for the Gibbon girls and boys track and field teams where the ladies placed seventh in the nine team field with 11 team points and the boys were ninth in their portion of the day with 18 team points. Central City’s 153 team points won the girls side of the meet and Doniphan/Trumbull won the boys side with 126 team points.
The inaugural list of Central Community College All-Stars has been announced by CCC athletics.
