The Shelton golf team endured a blustery day at Indianhead Golf Club in Grand Island for the D-1 District golf tournament on Monday, May 18, where senior Jaxson Ohlman swung his way to an opportunity to qualify for the state meet at Columbus.
The season came to an end for the Gibbon boys golf team at the C-4 District meet held at Southern Hills Golf Course near Hastings on Monday, May 18. As a team, the Buffaloes finished 15th the with a score of 465 among the 15 teams competing. Adams Central won the district title with a score of 305.
“There were some rough conditions at the C-4 District Golf Tournament at Southern Hills near Hastings,” explained Wood River head coach Jon Kuecker of the district meet held on Monday, May 18. The Eagles finished the day with a team score of 437 in 14th place among the 15 teams. The Adams Central boys won the district title with a team score of 305.
Beginning in January, Mrs. Brown’s fifth and sixth grade WIN (What I Need) class at Gibbon Public School started STEM (Science, technology, engineering and mathematics) projects. The students had the choice to invent a new product, or to do a community service project. When the projects were completed, two projects were selected to attend STEMfest, which was hosted by ESU10 in Kearney.
