Gibbon FFA announces officers, presents awards at 2025-2026 banquet

The Gibbon FFA Chapter held its annual banquet on Friday, April 24, at the school. The banquet featured a number of award winners (above) including Leadership Award winners Juan Murillo, Barrett DeBrie, Nora Fries, Silas Lester, Ximena Urbina Gonzales, Natalie Bendfeldt and Keaton Heikkinen; and scholarship winners Trace Smith, Keaton Heikkinen, and Giovanni Ramirez Hernandez. Honorary Chapter Degree recipients were Helen Bender and Zachary Fries. Also unveiled at the banquet was the 2026-2027 officer team which consists of president Natalie Bendfeldt, vice president Andrea Montanez, secretary Cove Fries, treasurer Karter Bendfeldt, reporter Chase Herter, sentinel Landi Weldon, historian Nora Fries, parliamentarian Chloe Frerichs, and chaplain Adan Tamayo. Gibbon track and field regular season concludes at Centura Invitational

The Gibbon boys were fifth and the Lady Buffaloes ninth in the nine team field at the final regular season track and field meet of the year, the Centura Invitational on Thursday, May 7. The boys finished the day with a team score of 53 and the Gibbon ladies had a team score of 25. The Doniphan/ Trumbull boys won the boys side of the day with a team score of 130 and the Centura ladies emerged with a 115 score to win the girls side of the invitational.
