Wrestling season got underway for the Gibbon Buffaloes with a dual at Ord on Thursday, December 2, and the Columbus Lakeview Invitational on Friday, December 3.
Wrestling season got underway for the Gibbon Buffaloes with a dual at Ord on Thursday, December 2, and the Columbus Lakeview Invitational on Friday, December 3.
The Shelton Lady Bulldogs trampled rival Elm Creek on their home court on Thursday, December 2, in the first game of the season and crushed Franklin in the follow up game on Friday, December 3, at home to begin the season with a 2-0 record.
“As we go into our third season in this system and culture, we look forward to bringing back four starters, who will all be going into their senior year, who bring great leadership qualities to the team on both ends of the floor,” stated Centura head boys basketball coach Mitchell Marvin of the 2021-22 Centurion boys team. Those returning starters and letterwinners are seniors Bryce Gorecki, Tanner Simdorn, Troy Rasmussen, and Kolby Gorecki.
Four varsity girls wrestlers will wrestle under the Centurion banner this season in the inaugural season for girls wrestling in addition to the Centurion boys season. Centura will be co-oping with Elba for wrestling this season and wrestlers Ayden Berney, Bryce Eaker, Christopher Williams and Tanner Lewis from Elba will join the Centura boys team.
After a 9-13 season last season, third year Centura girls basketball coach Laethion Brown said of the upcoming season, “We are looking to spark the first winning season in a while.”
