Sebastian Sauceda’s first place at the always competitive Wood River Invitational on Friday, December 10, led the Bulldog wrestlers, who finished in 15th place. Sauceda competed at 106 pounds for Shelton.
“Another weekend split for the Shelton boys basketball team,” began Shelton head boys basketball coach Will Reutzel of last week’s big 77-28 win over Wilcox-Hildreth on Thursday, December 9, and the overtime loss to Kenesaw the following night, 61-56.
Gibbon’s wrestling team finished the Wood River Invitational on Friday, December 10, tied with Superior for sixth place out of 17 teams competing.
The Shelton Junior High Quiz Bowl team went 9-1 and won the Grand Island Quiz Bowl Invite on Wednesday, December 1.
After taking a 17-4 lead in the first quarter, the Gibbon boys basketball team spent the rest of the game fighting off the Arcadia/Loup City Rebels to earn a 60-52 win on the road on Friday, December 10.
