After serving the area directly west of Windmill State Park south of Gibbon near the Interstate 80 interchange, the former Petro Oasis has recently been given new life as Kearney brothers Chas and Dave Kleveland have purchased the business and reopened under the name Foote’s Oasis on December 28. Chas is also the owner of Foote’s Convenience Plaza, in Kearney. Although not running at one hundred percent with gas pumps under repair and going through the process of obtaining a liquor license, Foote’s Oasis offers pop, fountain drinks, tobacco, groceries and more and will, in the near future, offer Sinclair gas, beer and Krispy Krunchy Chicken. Business hours until gasoline pumps are operating are Monday through Saturday, 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Sundays, 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (–photo by Dennis Walker)
