Shelton boys have busy hoops schedule last week

“It was a busy week for the Bulldog basketball team as they played three games on the road against pretty solid Class C2, C1 and D1 opponents but our boys competed really well,” Shelton head boys basketball coach Will Ruetzel said of games with Arcadia/Loup City, Centura (see the story on this game elsewhere in this issue) and Ansley/Litchfield last week. “Quinn Cheney hit a buzzer beater to get a win at Arcadia, a pretty competitive game,” reported coach Reutzel. “At Centura, they had a huge third quarter shooting, and we had a tight overtime game at Litchfield. We were 1-2 for the week, but the kids played hard, executed decently, and we were right there at the end of two of the games. Our posts (Christian Bly, Kellen Gegg, Zach Myers and Coby Reutzel) are doing a good job rebounding and continuing to improve offensively around the hoop, our guards (Quinn, Riley Bombeck, Ashton Simmons and Dylan Kenton) have done a nice job taking care of the ball, and pushing the ball in transition to find open teammates.”
