Clipper Country athletes compete in state junior high meet
Junior high athletes who competed in the Nebraska State Junior High Meet in Gothenburg on May 13 were, left to right, Emerson Graves, of Wood River; Susanna Cheney, of Shelton; and Erin Gegg, of Shelton. Graves and Gegg qualified in the triple jump and Cheney qualified in the 100 and 200 hurdles. Macy Willis, of Shelton, qualified in the shot put but was unable to attend due to a prior commitment. Erin Gegg placed 20th with a jump of 30’ 3” and Emerson placed 11th with a jump of 31’ 2”. Both girls had farther jumps prior to state. Susanna ran the 100 hurdles and placed fourth with a time of 16.65 seconds. Her preliminary time was 16.29. She placed 14th in the 200 hurdles with a time of 31.77 seconds.
