Area netters play in New West All-Star Classic

Area athletes to play in New West All Star games

The New West All-Star Classic, held Wednesday and Thursday, June 15 and 16, including Clipper Country athletes, will showcase Central Nebraska’s best high school athletes as they display their talents in the New West All-Star Classic Weekend to benefit the Nebraska Kidney Association. Volleyball will be played on June 15, and basketball on June 16, at Minden Public Schools, in Minden.

Greco/Freestyle wrestler Larraga to compete in Indianapolis

Dominick Larraga recently competed at the Nebraska USA Freestyle Greco Tournaments in Columbus where he was a USA Greco/Freestyle champion at 149 pounds. He has now qualified for the 14 and under Nebraska USA dual team in Greco/Freestyle. The team will compete in Indianapolis, Indiana, June 8 through June 12 with the top teams around the USA. Dominick is an incoming eighth grader that has come up in the little kid’s program at Shelton, Dominick’s father, Willy Larraga, has coached him since he was little and currently coaches high school wrestling as well in the little kid’s program at Shelton.
