The Heartland United Way and Greater Grand Island Community Foundation hosted the 11th annual Go Big GIVE event on Thursday, May 2, raising over $1,514,901 with 5,294 donations for 155 local non-profits in Hall, Hamilton, Howard and Merrick Counties.

Current mayor Deb VanMatre has chosen to not seek another term. The top two vote getters will advance to the November general election.
