Rescheduled graduation ceremonies will get underway in Clipper Country this weekend as Gibbon High will hold its commencement ceremonies this Saturday, July 25.
The regular monthly meeting of the Shelton Village Board of Trustees on Thursday, July 9, was highlighted by several agenda items which included a discussion of the purchase of a new ambulance and rescue truck for the volunteer fire department, approving the purchase of new playground equipment for the park, and approving an ordinance concerning workforce housing in the community.
Bobby Kelley grew up looking to play professional sports. But after entering the education field, the Central City native set himself on a path that led him to fill the secondary principal’s chair at Gibbon High School following the departure of Troy Lurz.
The Buffalo County Historical Society’s (BCHS) 2020 Annual Meeting, normally held in April, was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but good deeds should still be honored and the awards committee met virtually this year. BCHS recently announced the winner of the Eighth Annual Volunteer of the Year Award, which went to Janice Martin, of rural Gibbon.
